Best laid plans and all that. I really did want to do a prompt a day during 2015 but as usual life got in the way. So I will do my best to share what I can, when I can, and hope that is good enough. I am working on posting a minimum of three days a week which would be Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We’ll see if I can keep up with that schedule.

Do you believe in magic or destiny? Choose one and write for ten minutes.
My journal entry:
Magic and destiny: I recently saw a quote, “Everyone wants some magical solution for their problem and everyone refuses to believe in magic.” from The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. Now I know I have watched this movie more times than I can count because it is my youngest daughter’s favorite movie (even as an adult) but I didn’t remember this line. Seeing it this past week it makes so much sense. That quote feels so true to me, especially in today’s world.
I know that we start out believing in magic – fairies, gnomes, and princesses in faraway castles – and as we grew up we were told that magic isn’t real. Just like miracles, everyone wants one (or more) but no one believes in them when they actually happen.
I believe it is all about perspective and what we expect to see. I don’t know about you but I am going to be keeping my eyes open for magic and miracles and who knows, my destiny might be filled with wondrous events.

Life is as complicated as ever and unfortunately there are a lot of horrendous things happening in the world. Now not only do you find it on the news (which I stopped watching eons ago) but now you see it daily across social media. I’ve decided to do two things to help create more compassion in the world.
First, I joined an amazing group of bloggers that are coming together (#1000Speak) to spread compassion on the web February 20th, 2015.
Second, I am sending out loving, healing, compassionate energy to the suffering, and those causing the suffering, on a daily basis through Reiki and Karuna Ki.
