Day 2 of Experience Change and Open to Your Inner Writer. How did things go for you yesterday? Did you dance with the questions and get your words flowing a bit? Did you find where your words felt stuck in your body? Did anything come up that you would like to discuss? Remember to take care of yourself during this writing journey.

Today we are talking about the masculine and how it can help or stop our writing process. Each of us has both the masculine and the feminine within. The masculine is the action taker and the feminine is the intuitive dreamer.

This isn’t about what a woman is or what a man is. This is about the masculine and feminine that work together within that make us a whole person. When they are working in balance, you’re taking action on your dreams and making them a reality. When they are out of balance you’re filled with anxiety over the fact that you really want to be a writer but something is keeping you out of the seat.

Making friends with your Inner Masculine

To get back in balance you need to have a discussion with your inner masculine. Below you will find the questions to help you create a dialogue with your inner masculine as well as discover what broke off communication in the first place.

Today’s Writing Prompts:

Read the questions, choose which one/s you want to work with and then listen and dance/move to the music below.

  1. What are your beliefs about the masculine, make a list of them.
  2. What did the masculine represent within your family when you were growing up?
  3. Ask your inner masculine what is needed for him to restore cooperation and communication with the feminine within.
  4. How does your past and current relationships reflect how you feel about the masculine?
  5. Free write about the masculine asking, “How can I make friends with my inner masculine and return to balance?”

It is time to play some music, dance and move to get the words flowing. With the first song dance out any resistance you are feeling around communicating with the inner masculine. Dance out anything that is bothering  you, let go of anything that needs to be let go of. During the second song, set the intention of connecting to your inner masculine, and dance to connect in. With the third song reaffirm your relationship with your inner masculine.  You may choose to write between each song or you may decide to dance to all three and then write. Write whatever came up for you during the dance or ask the questions above to get things started. Don’t worry about anything but getting your words on the page.

Be kind to yourself during this process.

Take your time in writing that which wants to come through you and onto the page.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you found this beneficial. Join me tomorrow for more questions to help you blow out the stuck places and get those words flowing.

*The words that are in both bold and italics are words that you can reflect upon as well during this experiential journey.

“Sometimes poets write what we wish we could say, and they tell us what we need to know. The poems in Wild Woman Waking lead us to a place where we can proudly refuse to be “bent and broken”; instead, they document a journey to self-acceptance, peace, and understanding – where in a community of women, we celebrate and dance as Mud Women. We become women of spirit and keepers of our own keys.” ~Beth Camp
